Guest Photographer

Today I have the honor of presenting my fabulous husband's images from today. He captured the light and the moment perfectly. Enjoy!

My little man

I hear that we look alike. He is too close to me to be able to tell. I adore him. I love that he is flooded in sunshine, so appropriate. He told me yesterday that the freckle on his forehead is turning into a mole. We used to name all of his freckles as he got them. If he really is like me he will get many more! I love every piece of him including all of those tiny little spots!

The Passing of a Legend

Today Anthony's grandfather headed to heaven. He was an amazing man that I feel very blessed to have known these past 10 years. He was a father of 7, a grandfather of 12, and great grandfather of 6. He was a very talented artist and extremely hard worker. I imagine him up in heaven helping to paint the sunsets. We will miss him very much. I'm so glad that my children got to know Poppa Sam even a little in their short lives.
The pictures are old but nothing else would do for today.

The Chocolate Moose

I shot yesterdays shot right before sunset on a desperate whim to get a shot before dark! I got one shot before the baby cried. My dear husband is in Canada on a job interview and I must say that I miss him very much! He does a lot around here and I've definitely missed not only his company but his helping hands. This morning the sweet little purple flowers had opened up and were just begging for a better shot.
You can tell the weather is changing when the Chocolate Moose opens again. It was BEAUTIFUL today!!! After trips to several parks we stopped for the famous torch cone. A perfect 25cent baby cone with little candy eyeballs. Caleb got his own this year and had it gone before anyone else! He wouldn't even stop long enough for me to wipe off his mouth. When he finished he kept trying to get one of his siblings to share theirs.
Found the train today with no hitch hikers and thought this shot was cool.
Also found another graffiti wall with awesome color.

The hitch hiker

What can I say, it was a slow photo day! Which translates into- it was a very busy day for me! I took the kids to the park and I was going to get some play pictures but I got too busy PLAYING. We heard the train and ran to catch sight of it. I grabbed out my camera in time and was right by the tracks. However, I was a bit startled as I started to turn on my camera by the man hanging off the side. I couldn't even get composed enough to shoot. It wasn't until the train passed me by that I was able to snap the shot. I was trying to make sure the kids were safe and the guy stared me down as he passed. It was a little bizarre but, in hindsight, quite funny!

Happy Easter!

It snowed on our egg hunt! This unpredictable weather is driving me insane! Other than that we had a very nice easter. Although, I was disappointed that I didn't get a family shot and I didn't even get a good shot of my 3. Isaac was up a lot of the night and then up very early so he looks beat in all of the shots I took of them at church. We went to a friend's house for brunch and an egg hunt and Caleb even got in on the action. Hope you all had a great Easter filled with lots of chocolate and family.

If only everyday could be this good!

I figured out a way to make all of my children smile! Give them the sun and let them run. Even Isaac was willing to pose for me today! He ran in from school and told me he needed his shorts with the pockets and his plain green shirt. Mind you, he hasn't worn these since last summer. The temperature hit about 64 today and everyone was in such a good mood. We hit a park and played and played and played. Caleb found a slide that he would go down on his belly. He thought that was just the best thing in the whole world and was quite mad when we had to leave. Tonight we had movie night and watched "Enchanted" together. It was very funny and sweet. I have to tell you that even my husband, who was supposed to be heading out with the guys to watch basketball, got caught up in it and watched it until the very end. I sort of feel like just bursting out in song about the whole day, but I'll spare you- go watch the movie and enjoy the sun.

After the rain

Ice cream all around! It was so nice out today. We headed out for ice cream to celebrate the return of spring. I feel like I always miss pics of Isaac. Today he was a daredevil and playing monkey on a metal rail above asphalt. I was afraid that if I started shooting and distracted him we'd be in the emergency room. But trust me, he enjoyed the ice cream too!
We are still floating a little bit and there is more work to do, but right now I'm just enjoying the sunshine.

Water, water, everywhere

This is what I spent my whole day looking at. The drain, towels and an ugly little broom. On the up side I think that the rain is just about done and we have very little damage to any of our things. The floor on the other hand, well, all I can say is thank God it's a rental!

Where I'd rather be. . .

Actually, anywhere but here. Our basement is flooding. Sorry for the short post but I've got to go babysit the water and make sure it stays in the little man made river we made for it and doesn't venture into the playroom. Hopefully your day is going drier.

Happy Saint Patrick's

We have so much fun on St. Patty's. A little leprechaun comes and turns our food green- milk, eggs, pasta, etc.. He creates little mischief here and there. It's great. I should have tried to capture some of his shenanigans but I was a little busy trying to give him a helping hand. We went over to a friend's house this afternoon to celebrate with Shamrock shakes and cupcakes and I caught this picture of her little pixie. I've been wanting to play with natural light more and try and catch "Rembrandt's triangle". Hopefully you all had a great day full of little surprises!

Let the music play

While we were playing today I stumbled across this beautiful old piano. I wonder how often it gets played. Probably not nearly enough. I thought it would be beautiful in black and white and changed my settings to monochrome. These are straight out the camera.

Through the eyes of a baby

We played at the IMU today- our favorite run around when the weather is cold. It was Caleb's first time participating and BOY did he have fun! He can't wait to run with the big boys!
