Eatin' grass

I know, these are from yesterday too. But I had to share. I was shooting Isaac and Livi when I noticed that Caleb was being VERY quiet. He had his back to me and I couldn't quite see what he was doing. As I saw his hand reach out I sort of knew what was coming.
I slowly snuck around to see if I could catch him in action. So far, just feeling it.
And thinking about it.
Ah, there it goes. And he hasn't noticed mommy.

Really pushing it in there. BUSTED!

Kinda like seaweed, or spinach, man, it's good!
Saving some for later.
The joy of discovery.

Brown County State Park

I know that I said I would post some party pics, and I will. But I had to post a few shots from Brown County. What a beautiful park! It will be much prettier when it gets green again but even with a lot of brown it was breathtaking! The older two just wanted to run and were not to cooperative with mom's camera. Caleb hasn't quite learned the "no paparazzi" stance. We enjoyed a wonderful warm spring family day. May many more follow!

The Chocolate Moose

I shot yesterdays shot right before sunset on a desperate whim to get a shot before dark! I got one shot before the baby cried. My dear husband is in Canada on a job interview and I must say that I miss him very much! He does a lot around here and I've definitely missed not only his company but his helping hands. This morning the sweet little purple flowers had opened up and were just begging for a better shot.
You can tell the weather is changing when the Chocolate Moose opens again. It was BEAUTIFUL today!!! After trips to several parks we stopped for the famous torch cone. A perfect 25cent baby cone with little candy eyeballs. Caleb got his own this year and had it gone before anyone else! He wouldn't even stop long enough for me to wipe off his mouth. When he finished he kept trying to get one of his siblings to share theirs.
Found the train today with no hitch hikers and thought this shot was cool.
Also found another graffiti wall with awesome color.

The last hurrah

On the way home from Ohio we stopped at COSI in Columbus. It is a spectacular children's museum and we had a BLAST!!! It was the perfect end to a very relaxing vacation.

It's all about the books

How's that for an author headshot?! He's got the glasses, scarf, collar and smirk! Now all he needs is a best seller! And as brilliant as he is, its on the way! We took our weekly trip to the library and Caleb was having fun cruising the furniture and biting everything in site. We've got to instill the love of books in him even if it's just by making sure he has plenty around!

I love that Livi just parked herself in the middle of the floor and was in her own world.

Even when the sun doesn't shine- it does

Today was a dark and gloomy day until I shot a few more pics of this precious baby. I really wanted to do some little naked snuggly shots but this little guy was just too awake and didn't want to be posed! He is so sweet. Caleb wasn't sure he wanted to share my attention with him. I guess I understand- it is pretty hard to compete with a naked newborn!

Caleb makes up for yesterday

Once again I pulled my poor neglected camera out tonight to shoot Isaac and Liv swimming and got a little brother instead. But tonight, as he was standing at my knee, I took the first shot, he looked to see what I was doing and then HE POSED! Now I'm going to have to deal with THREE posers! Notice the lovely halo of bruises forming on his poor little forehead-a result of new found pulling up on everything in sight.

The chaos that is motherhood

Yeah, the picture says it all. I really wanted to get some shots of the kids playing an exciting game of BINGO today and I got this instead. Because he is crawling- he can find me. Because he can pull up-he can pull up on me. I wasn't going to post today but I decided that this would be a good time to study the use of the wide angle zoom. I also liked the bright colors that help show off the absolute chaos of the moment. Notice that my children in the background are completely unphased by their screaming brother. How's that for compassion! This is a peek at my life. Sometimes, well-usually, crazy but bright and vivid and full of life.

Welcome home!

My dear other half is home! After picking him at the airport we decided to treat the kids to Chuck E. Cheese. We have only been once or twice before and they had a blast! It is nice to have Anthony back home. We really did miss him!

He was greeted by lots of melting ice in Bloomington. It was sort of funny to watch us all try and skate up the driveway. The ice is melting fast though and I'm hoping that spring is just around the corner.
